The bottom level (for example a “Journey of Generosity”) is focused on answering the “why” questions for donors. With the “why” questions answered already, some givers might be interested in joining or founding a National Donors’ Forum, an informal network for like-minded givers. EGCC would offer assistance and consultancy in the process. For those simply seeking the European perspective, joining the EGCC Summit is an option, too.
The EGCC and the National Donors’ Forums are focused on building relationships, answering the “what” and “how” questions, and providing administrative assistance when needed.
The EGCC and Donors’ Forums at national and regional levels are not legal entities, but informal networks. The collaborative efforts will lead to sharing information, but the administration of donation contracts and payment settlements are solely the responsibility of each individual giver.
If the need occurs for donors to share funds in order to minimize administration costs, payment settlements, or accountability reports, there several options. It is possible to create a legal entity as a foundation at the national level. Alternatively, a EGCC fund can be created for Pan European projects. These steps, however, should be taken on demand and in an organic way.
